Omega Ronin: Hephaelion Song Commentary

I created Hephaelion with a video trailer in mind for my graphic novel project called SwordRealm. This song had to be heavy hitting and menacing from the get go.

The Nord Drum 3P provided the beat. I love starting songs with the Nord Drum because nothing else sounds like it. The Nord Drum 3P is such a weird drum machine, and it lays an incredible foundation for a song.

Lately I've been mixing a lot of crisp Roland drums on top of the Nord Drum, which gives it a solid groove, and from there, the leads just fell into place during the recording sessions. The Juno-X whammy bar always adds a lot of character to the song, and that's all that there is to it. Hephaelion wrote itself, I think. It wanted to be in the trailer! It's alive!!

Hephaelion is named after the main planetary setting in SwordRealm.
