Anyone who knows me knows that I love old Ministry, Thrill Kill Kult, Revco, Meat Beat Manifesto, and all that kinda stuff. There's a definite 80s vibe and bassline groove that defines that mid to late 80s early industrial hypnotic sound.

Anyway, while making Sirens I tabled every song that I made which didn't fit into the Sirens playlist, and this is one of them. I must have been listening to a lot of Revolting Cocks or TKK at the time because that bassline has definite echoes of some dusty old cassette tapes from 1989.

I was saving it for a Turbo Volcano song, but then I added a Moog drone from the Sirens sessions which turned it into a very different song (the Moog drone is the weird 70s sparkly thing in the beginning that plays throughout much of the song.)

When I completed it, I think An Albatross Named Desire rocked pretty hard and fits the second slot of the album nicely. Forbidden Depths is all b-sides from Sirens which didn't fit, and that's why it's a very interesting album.
